Encourages comparison instead of focus.

Why I’m Stepping Away From Social Media — And What That Means for My Business

I’ve been thinking about this for a while.

Social media isn’t working for me.

Not in the way I hoped. Not in the way it’s supposed to. Not in a way that feels aligned.

So I’m stepping away.

Why

I don’t believe social media is healthy for me.

It pulls attention outward. It rewards noise over depth. It encourages comparison instead of focus.

That doesn’t mean it’s evil.It means it doesn’t serve me.

And if something doesn’t serve your growth, your clarity, or your peace — you have to question it.

What This Means for My Business

From a business standpoint, people will say this is a mistake.

“Visibility matters.”“Engagement drives growth.”“You need to be seen.”

Maybe.

But I don’t want Watson Training Fitness built on algorithms.

I want it built on:

  • Real training

  • Real relationships

  • Real effort

  • Real results

If someone trains here, it should be because the work is solid — not because a post performed well.

Depth Over Reach

Social media rewards reach.

I care more about depth.

I’d rather coach ten committed people than entertain a thousand scrolling.

I’d rather refine technique than refine captions.

I’d rather be on the mats than on a feed.

The Risk

Yes, this might slow growth.

Yes, fewer people may discover the gym.

Yes, it could affect numbers.

But integrity matters more than exposure.

If the foundation is strong, growth will come the right way — word of mouth, reputation, consistency.

What Doesn’t Change

The mission stays the same.

We train. We improve. We show up.

Nobody Jiu-Jitsu doesn’t need an audience.

It needs honesty.

Final Thought

Stepping away isn’t quitting.

It’s choosing focus.

Less scrolling. More drilling. Less broadcasting. More building.

If you’re looking for flash, this isn’t it.

If you’re looking for real work — you know where to find us.

Nobody Jiu-Jitsu isn’t about being seen. It’s about being honest with the work.
